Weather in Las Vegas in January

  • Average Temp in Las Vegas in January: high of 59° F, low of 28° F
  • Rainfall: 0.6 inches

Believe it or not, the weather can get cold in Las Vegas, although not nearly as cold in the northeast. But if you’re from SoCal, you may want to pack many many layers.

It’s send temps for climbers, and people from all over the world come to climb at Red Rock.

Hotel rates are lower when it’s quiet, so be sure to avoid the big shows like CES and AVN.

Tips for Visiting Las Vegas in January

  • Shows and conferences can sell out quickly! Get tickets as soon as you know you want to go.
  • Some shows don’t allow you to bring certain items in. Read all the fine print before heading there.
  • Save money with the All-Inclusive or Explorer Pass if you plan on visiting multiple attractions.
  • Bring layers – layers are important for visiting Las Vegas in January. As a local, I’m completely bundled up all month because I’m soft now.
  • Even though it’s cold, sunscreen is important, especially if you’re doing outdoor activities.
  • The sun sets early in January (around 4:30-5 PM), so plan your days around it if you want sunlight.
  • Arrive early to events and meals. It takes longer than you think to get from one spot on the strip to another.
