Just over a week after J. Cole apologized for his Kendrick Lamar diss track, “7 Minute Drill,” Drake has come to the table with one of his own. Titled “Push Ups (Drop & Give Me 50),” the track first leaked online over the weekend. On Monday, Drake all but confirm it’s legitimacy by posting a meme video to Instagram featuring producer Metro Boomin superimposed into a scene from the movie Drumline, referencing a lyric from “Push Ups.”
Hip-hop’s latest feud all began with Drake and Cole’s 2023 hit “First Person Shooter,” which saw J. Cole declare that he, Drake, and made up hip-hop’s so called “Big Three.” Lamar struck back with a surprise verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s song “Like That,” saying “Motherf*ck the Big 3, n***a it’s just big me.” Cole responded with his own diss track, “7 Minute Drill,” but later apologized for its release and pulled the song from steaming services.
Now, on “Push Ups (Drop & Give Me 50),” Drake has unleashed his response. “Pipsqueak, pipe down/ You ain’t in no big three/ SZA got you wiped down/ Travis [Scott] got you wiped down/ [21] Savage got you wiped down,” Drake raps.

Going further — and suggesting that their beef is deeper than just these recent back-and-forths — Drake referenced Cole’s apology and doubled-down on his own lack thereof. “And that fuckin’ song y’all got did not start the beef with us,” he raps. “This shit been brewin’ in a pot, now I’m heating up/ I don’t care what Cole think, that ‘Dot’ shit was weak as fuck.”
Elsewhere, Drake makes reference to Lamar’s appeals to the mainstream, rapping, “Maroon 5 need a verse, you better make it witty/ Then we need a verse for the Swifties.”
Even the song’s title is likely a diss, as Drake appears to refer to Top Dawg Entertainment CEO, Anthony “Top” Tiffith, and his deals with Lamar. Alleging that Tiffith took a large cut (around 50%) from the albums released when Lamar was signed to TDE (which, as of right now, is pretty much all of them), Drake raps, “Extortion baby, whole career you been shook up/ ‘Cause Top told you drop and give me fifty like some push-ups.”
Lamar isn’t Drake’s only target, however. “Metro, shut your ho-ass up and make some drums,” he says of producer Metro Boomin. Other disses on the track are reserved for the likes of Future, Rick Ross, The Weeknd, and NBA player Ja Morant. Earlier this month, Drake also simulated shooting a giant Travis Scott head after Scott encouraged Future and Metro Boomin to debut “Like That” at Rolling Loud California.
“Push Ups (Drop & Give Me 50)” first arrived as a leak (even prompting some to suggest that it was AI). It’s uncertain if it will be included in any upcoming projects of Drake’s. Stream the song below.
As for Lamar, we’ll have to wait and see how he responds. Honestly, he might be pretty busy at the moment co-producing a new comedy film with South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker.
