Cosmic

Urban Decay Cosmic 24/7 Moondust EyeshadowUrban Decay Cosmic 24/7 Moondust Eyeshadow ($22.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a bright, warmer white with silver-white and pale gold sparkle throughout. It looked lighter and less warm-toned at certain angles but then more like the pan color–soft beige–at other angles. The texture was smooth, almost emollient, and more firmly-pressed into the pan, but it wasn’t stiff or difficult to pick up with a dry brush.

It had semi-opaque coverage applied with a dry brush and more opaque coverage applied with a dampened brush or a fingertip. It had very minimal fallout during application and was buildable in coverage. This shade lasted well for eight and a half hours with slight fallout over time.

This shade was similar in color to the original release.

Formula Overview

$22.00/0.06 oz. – $366.67 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have “maximum sparkle, supercharged color, and a long-lasting shimmer finish that lasts up to 16-hours.” Per the brand, it can be “buil[t] up [to an] intense shimmer” or blended out for a “diffused glow.” That being said, they also say it is “high pigment eyeshadow” when used with a brush or fingertips. It can also be used wet to create a “foiled” effect.

The pigmentation varied from shade to shade, but most were medium to opaque in a single layer applied dry and all were more pigmented applied with a dampened brush. The darker shade(s) looked better in person as they sparkled and moved with the light, but in a still photo, some of the unevenness of the base was more apparent.

The consistency was smooth, lightly emollient, and had a lot less fallout than most shades with as much sparkle, and the sparkle seemed more fleck-light, which I find is flatter and better-adhering. There was light fallout over the eight to 10 hours the formula lasted (before fading), but 16 hours would be quite the feat.

In comparison to the original Moondust formula, the relaunch seemed slightly more emollient, better-pressed, and less prone to fallout but still yielded a sparkling, wet-like finish.

Space Cowboy

Urban Decay Space Cowboy 24/7 Moondust EyeshadowUrban Decay Space Cowboy 24/7 Moondust Eyeshadow ($22.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a soft, golden brown base with pink and peach sparkle throughout. It had nearly opaque color payoff in a single layer when applied with a dry brush, but it seemed more prone to sheering out when I tried using it with a dampened brush. When I used a fingertip, it had opaque coverage.

The texture was soft, smooth, and almost emollient but more firmly-pressed in the pan, so it wasn’t prone to excess product kicked up in the pan. It had very minimal fallout when blending it out on my skin. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours very faint fallout over time.

This shade was darker and browner compared to the original release.

Solstice

Urban Decay Solstice 24/7 Moondust EyeshadowUrban Decay Solstice 24/7 Moondust Eyeshadow ($22.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium-dark, plummy brown base with sparkling, duochrome shift between green and teal. It had semi-sheer color coverage applied dry and semi-opaque, buildable coverage applied with a dampened brush.

The texture was more loosely-pressed and seemed a smidgen drier compared to other shades in the formula, so it had moderate fallout during application and was best applied with a fingertip or a dampened brush as a result. It wore well for eight and a half hours with very minimal fallout, though nowhere near the 16-hours claimed.

The color and finish were comparable to the original release.

Lithium

Urban Decay Lithium 24/7 Moondust EyeshadowUrban Decay Lithium 24/7 Moondust Eyeshadow ($22.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium, golden bronze with strong, warm undertones and flecks of bronze and pink sparkle throughout. It had opaque pigmentation applied dry as well as with a dampened brush with the latter application method yielding a more sparkling, intense finish.

The texture was smooth, lightly emollient, and moderately dense in the pan, so it wasn’t as prone to fallout as one might expect given how sparkly it was. It applied evenly and had a touch of fallout during application when I blended it out, but it was quite minimal. This shade stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours with a touch of fallout over time.

Glitter Rock

Urban Decay Glitter Rock 24/7 Moondust EyeshadowUrban Decay Glitter Rock 24/7 Moondust Eyeshadow ($22.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a light-medium pink with warmer undertones and cooler flecks of pink and lavender sparkle throughout. It had sheer pigmentation applied dry and mostly opaque coverage applied with a dampened brush, but it was hard to build it up without using a fingertip or a dampened brush during application.

The texture was smooth to the touch, moderately dense, and felt lightly emollient, so it wasn’t powdery nor prone to fallout as the majority of sparkles seemed to adhere to my skin, even as I diffused the edges of the product. It lasted well for eight and a half hours with very faint fallout over time.
