ColourPop Strike a Pose Fresh Kiss Lip Crème ($8.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a darker pink with moderate, warm undertones and a cream finish, which took an hour or so to develop into a more soft matte finish. The color payoff was opaque in a single layer, so I’d recommend using only one side of the applicator to get sheerer coverage if desired.

The texture felt smooth, more velvety and lightweight, which ensured it was comfortable to apply and to wear. It was more prone to settling into my lip lines, though, but they could be smoothed out and were less prone to re-settling after some of the sheen wore down. It lasted well for four hours and was lightly moisturizing while worn.

Formula Overview

$8.00/0.24 oz. – $33.33 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to be a “hybrid” product that has the “colour of a lipstick with the care of a lip balm” in a “creamy matte finish.” They described the coverage as “buildable.” They feature a flexible, doe-foot applicator that has a more rounded side and a more slanted, triangular side (the latter worked well for getting crisper lines of color).

The product had more semi-opaque to opaque coverage in a single pull of product, though one could certainly use just one side’s worth of the applicator product to achieve sheerer, more buildable coverage if desired.

The consistency was mousse-like with an airy, velvety-smooth feel that made it easy to spread across my lips and kept it comfortable to wear. It wasn’t clingy, but there was a bit of adhesion without tackiness, the kind I tend to find is present with more velvety, silicone-heavy formulas like this one.

It has a more cream-like finish that wears down to a soft matte finish after an hour or two. They don’t have a full dry-down, so they are not transfer-resistant or ultra long-wearing. They lasted between four and six hours with deeper, more red-toned shades tending to last the longest and leaving behind light stains. They were lightly hydrating over time. There didn’t appear to be a scent, and there was no taste.

They are much lighter-weight and less “wet” in feel going on initially compared to the brand’s prior Ultra Satin formula. The Ultra Satin formula adhered more and was very long-wearing, and while not initially transfer-resistant, it was more transfer-resistant after an hour or two of wear.

ColourPop Alt Rock Fresh Kiss Lip Crème ($8.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a rich, deeper plum with subtle, cool undertones and a cream finish. It had opaque color coverage in a single layer, which was more than marketed (“buildable”), so if one wanted to get sheerer, more buildable coverage, I recommend wiping off one side of the applicator before applying.

The texture was lightweight, mousse-like, and airy with a more silicone-like velvet glide and spread. This shade wore nicely for five hours and was lightly hydrating over time.
