Fluoresce

Clionadh Fluoresce Iridescent Multichrome Eyeshadow (Series 2) ($14.25 for 0.05 oz.) had a transparent base with multichrome shimmer that shifted between cool, bluish-aqua to sky blue to bluish-lavender to cotton candy pink paired with a metallic sheen. Per the brand, it has a “translucent base that reflects turquoise-blue-violet-pink.” I loved how intense the shift was in this shade, and it really looked like it was dancing as it was so shiny and had finer sparkle throughout that twinkled.

The consistency was moderately dense, not too thick or too loosely-pressed into the pan, which helped the product adhere smoothly to bare skin without having fallout be a concern. It had nearly opaque pigmentation from the shift, though the base was transparent, so the skin could show through if sheered out. There were signs of fading apparent after eight and a half hours of wear.

For those who find more popular Multichrome formulas (often the ones with black bases) harder to incorporate into looks, the Iridescents are some of the more versatile Multichromes I’ve come across that offer intense, shifting effects whether they’re used alone, sheered out, over an eyeliner, or patted over one’s favorite eyeshadow. They are also a bit smoother and firmly-pressed into the pan with a, generally, finer shimmer/sparkle to them, so they are less fragile and prone to fallout.

They work well with dry brushes, whether firmer or fluffier, along with fingertips and dampened brushes. The latter two methods yield more intense and metallic finishes and slightly more even application from the get-go. The majority of the shades had semi-opaque to opaque color coverage–more from the shimmer/shift as the bases are designed to be transparent–that blended out easily and stayed on well for eight to nine hours before fading.

UV

Clionadh UV Iridescent Multichrome Eyeshadow (Series 2) ($14.25 for 0.05 oz.) has a translucent base with a sparkling sheen that shifted between cooler lavender and warmer lavender. Per the brand, it has a “translucent base that reflects indigo-violet-peach.” It was really hard to detect the peach shift, though it was a little more apparent in person than in photos.

The texture was smooth, more finely-milled and lightly emollient without being too loosely-pressed in the pan, so it was easy to pick up with a dry brush but also worked well with a fingertip or a dampened brush if preferred. It had semi-opaque, buildable color payoff with a dry brush and opaque coverage with a fingertip. While the shift was weaker in this shade compared to most of the brand’s multichromes, this was very brightening as it was. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.
