Sunglasses are for outdoor activities, right? Absolutely. And because there are so many different activities people enjoy outdoors, there isn’t a perfect pair of sunglasses. It is not unusual for your customers to own several pairs depending on the activities they enjoy.

One of our roles as a wholesale supplier of bulk sunglasses for men, women, and children is to provide the widest range of inventory we can. A wide range helps you, as a retailer, provide exactly the styles your customers are after. Regardless of the season, they need sunglasses that protect their eyes no matter what they happen to do outdoors.

Always Start With UV Protection

It goes without saying that UV protection is the highest priority. It doesn’t matter whether a customer enjoys spending her days poolside or hitting the links. We all wear sunglasses to protect our eyes against damaging UV rays. Protecting eyes should be your top priority as an eyewear retailer.

We recommend not settling for sunglasses rated below UV 400. Some cases might call for UV 300 products, but UV 400 sunglasses block all ultraviolet rays.

It might be a good idea to remind your customers from time to time that lens color has nothing to do with UV protection. The protective UV filter built into a modern pair is actually transparent. Lens color matters in terms of blocking direct sunlight in determining clarity of vision, but it has nothing to do with blocking UV rays.

Polarized Lenses

Some of your customers are definitely going to want polarized lenses. Right off the top we are thinking about boaters, anglers, and skiers. Wherever exposure to reflected light is excessive, polarized lenses do the trick. They protect against glare resulting from reflected light.

Polarized lenses give you yet another opportunity to educate your customers. Polarization can be accomplished either horizontally or vertically. This is why a person might not be able to read his phone screen while wearing sunglasses. But here’s a fun little trick: if a person cannot see his phone screen with his sunglasses on, simply rotating the screen should solve the problem.

Larger Sunglasses

Some of your customers might prefer to engage in activities requiring larger sunglasses. For example, spending several hours at the pool or on the beach is great for soaking up the sun, but it could be bad for the eyes if a person’s sunglasses are too small.

Larger frames offer more protection all around the eyes. Some of your customers might even prefer wraparounds for sunbathing. The more coverage a pair of sunglasses offers, the better they are for protecting both the eyes and the delicate skin around them.

You Can Be a Hero

As a bulk supplier of men’s and women’s sunglasses, we do well when you do well. To that end, we like to help retailers be better at what they do. We recommend working on becoming a hero in the eyes of retail customers. How do you do that? By taking good care of them.

You can be a hero by, among other things, educating your customers about all things related to sunglasses. Find a way to educate them about UV rays and the harm they cause. Educate them about polarization and coverage. Educate them on how to choose the right pair based on activity.

Your ability to sell designer sunglasses rests on how well you communicate with customers. Likewise, we publish these blog posts as a means of communicating with you. Together, we can make sure your customers have the sunglasses they need.
