Taylor Swift wrapped up what has been a truly historic year with yet another truly historic accomplishment. With 1989 (Taylor’s Version) once again claiming the top spot on Billboard 200 this week, Swift has surpassed Elvis Presley for the most No. 1 weeks of any solo musician in music history.
To date, Swift has logged 68 weeks with the No. 1 album in America. That number tops Elvis’ previous record of 67 weeks at the top of the charts. Now, Swift sits behind only The Beatles, who spent 132 weeks at No. 1 over the course of their career.
Per Billboard, Swift’s first No. 1 album came with Fearless, which spent 11 weeks at No. 1 in late 2008 and early 2009. She then followed that up with 2010’s Speak Now (which spent six weeks at No. 1), 2012’s Red (seven weeks), 2014’s 1989 (11 weeks), 2017’s Reputation (four weeks), 2019’s Lover (one week), 2020’s folklore (eight weeks), 2020’s evermore (four weeks), 2021’s Fearless (Taylor’s Version) (two weeks), 2021’s Red (Taylor’s Version) (one week), 2022’s Midnights (six weeks), 2023’s Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) (two weeks), and 2023’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version) (five weeks).
