Ambrosia

Tom Ford Beauty Ambrosia Eye Color Quad ($90.00 for 0.35 oz.) was another disappointment in the Tom Ford fall collection. Tom Ford frequently includes a more emollient, often sheerer, sparkly shade in their quads, but the ones included in Ambrosia were quite dry and firmer, which made them difficult to pick up, have poor adhesion, and more prone to fallout.

Ingredients

Ambrosia #1

Ambrosia #1 is a light copper with moderate, warm orange-based undertones and a sparkling finish. I was surprised at how dry it felt–not nearly as emollient or as smooth as most of the brand’s sparkly shades in past quads.

  • Semi-sheer pigmentation; hard to build up
  • Firmly-pressed, drier, and picked up poorly with a brush
  • Prone to fallout during application, needed to be applied with an adhesive base/spray
  • Shorter wear (6 hours), moderate fallout over time

These are the dupes the editor has pulled but not yet rated and officially entered.

Ambrosia #2

Ambrosia #2 is a brighter, medium red with strong, warm orange undertones and flecks of pink and copper sparkle throughout. Like the copper shade, this was also quite dry and pressed firmly into the pan.

  • Firmly-pressed, drier, and picked up poorly with a brush
  • Prone to fallout during application, needed to be applied with an adhesive base/spray
