Slipknot are celebrating their 1999 self-titled album with a massive 25th anniversary box set featuring 59 tracks, of which 40 have never previously been released — including a demo of “Prosthetics” that can be heard below.
The box set, which arrives September 5th via Roadrunner Records, features six blood-colored LPs, including the original Ross Robinson-produced album, as well as the raw “Indigo Ranch Mixes,” a number demos, and a handful of Jay Baumgardner mixes. Additionally, the collection features 2 LPs worth of live tracks recorded at shows in Connecticut, the UK, and Iowa shortly after the album’s original release.
Slipknot recently landed at No. 55 on Consequence’s list of the 75 Best Metal Albums of All Time. The seminal release contains such classics as “Wait and Bleed,” “Surfacing,” and “Spit It Out.” Last year, Slipknot embarked on a 25th anniversary tour in celebration of the album, during which they donned red jumpsuits similar to the ones they wore on their original tour in support of the LP.
