Hayden Panettiere died from the toxic effects of fentanyl and other substances, according to a newly released report from the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
The coroner’s office listed fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol, and quetiapine among the substances involved in her death. An autopsy found no signs of trauma that contributed to her death, and the manner of death was ruled accidental.
The 36-year-old actress was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead on August 16th, 2026, at an apartment in Greenville, South Carolina.
