Will America #MuteRKelly?

The Lifetime docu-series ‘Surviving R.Kelly’ has brought the R&B singer back to the forefront of the cultural conversation. A decade after being acquitted of child pornography charges, numerous women are speaking out, accusing the singer of rape and violence against underage girls. And now, the State’s Attorney for Cook County, Illinois is calling on any women with claims against the artist to come forward. #MuteRKelly movement co-founder Kenyette Tisha Barnes talks to us about what this series could mean for the artist’s place in the black community.
